The tradition of throwing confetti dates back to pagan times to keep away evil spirits and bestow fertility upon the marriage. It has endured as one of the quirky things you’ll only experience on your wedding day!

As Whitedove celebrants we request that only 100% natural confetti is used at the end of our ceremonies and many hotels, churches and other venues will only permit this to be thrown. We feel it is important that we encourage a responsible approach to combining this wonderful wedding tradition with the need to protect our coastline and natural spaces.
